The New Smyrna Beach Regional Library (1001 S Dixie Freeway), will salute veterans by showing three movies made during World War II.
The lineup includes:
“Flying Tigers”: 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. American aviators volunteer to fly military missions for China against Japan before the breakout of World War II. John Wayne stars in the 1942 film. Not rated, 102 minutes.
“Air Force”: 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19. The crew of an Air Force bomber arrives in Pearl Harbor in the aftermath of the Japanese attack and is sent on to Manila to help with the defense of the Philippines. John Garfield stars in this 1941 film. Not rated, 124 minutes.
“Destination Tokyo”: 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26. To provide information for the first air raid over Tokyo, a U.S. submarine sneaks into Tokyo Bay and places a spy team ashore. Cary Grant stars in this 1943 film. Not rated, 135 minutes.
