The City of NSB continues its partnership with the New Smyrna Beach Housing Authority to enhance the availability of workforce/affordable housing development in NSB.
Starting in January 2022, as a result of a U.S. Housing and Urban Development 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit Award, the Housing Authority initiated Phase 1 development activities for a new affordable senior housing development project called Greenlawn Manor. This estimated $20 million dollar Phase 1 project will began with the demolition and disposition of the existing Greenlawn Terrace public housing units (600 Greenlawn Street).
For Phase 1, the City of NSB CRA contributed $425,625 toward Phase 1 development activities as part of a local match. The project proposes 80 individual units. Amenities such as offices, community rooms, and elevators etc. have been integrated into the project's design.
