2015 Airport Master Plan

The update of the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport's Master Plan will set the future direction and needs of the facility and is required to be eligible for federal and state funding.  The process includes the collection and evaluation of data relating to the Airport and surrounding area and is obtained through on-site investigations of the Airport; interviews with Airport management, fixed-based operators, air traffic control, and representatives of various City offices, and collection and analysis of previous reports and studies. A survey of tenant’s facilities and future plans also is conducted through on-site interviews. The inventory includes an analysis of:

• Airport Setting
• Airside Facilities
• Landside Facilities
• Airspace Structure
• On-Airport Land Use
• Community Inventory
• Socioeconomic Data
• Climate

To involve the community in the 2015 Master Plan Update for the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport, the public is encouraged to provide input. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) highly recommends updating airport master plans every 10 years.
Residents, members of the business community, civic organizations, airport tenants and users are encouraged to provide suggestions and ideas by completing a comment form
