Different permits applications require different information. However, there are some fairly common information requests that apply to most permit applications:
- Property address
- Property owner’s name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and fax number
- Contractor’s name, address, phone number, e-mail address and license number
- Subdivision
- Lot number
- Parcel number
- Description of work
Drawn plans typically are not necessary for electrical, mechanical or plumbing permit applications. However, structural permits normally do require plans that clearly show all work on the building and where the building sits on the property. Typical plans include a site plan, floor plans and cross sections showing construction details.
