If you are requesting your report by mail, please provide Records with a signed and notarized copy of the crash report affidavit along with your request. After 60 days the affidavit is not required to obtain an accident report.   Accident reports over a year old may be obtained by contacting New Smyrna Beach Police Department at: 386-424-2220.

The Records Section provides many services within the Administrative Division. Staff members are responsible for entering, maintaining and distributing offense reports, supplemental reports, accident reports, arrest reports, miscellaneous incident reports and other documents in accordance with Florida State Statute (FSS) 119. for records retrieval and statistical analysis. The Records Section is also responsible for quality assurance and the preparation of reports for reporting crime to the State of Florida, so semi-annual and annual FBI crime data can be published on behalf of the City of New Smyrna Beach.

Requests for records, report copies, background checks and soliciting permits can be made at the service window Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, excluding official City holidays.
