  2. City of New Smyrna Beach Arbor Day Celebration

    April 27, 2018, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Old Fort Park

Tree Giveaway: City residents will be eligible to receive on a first-come, first-serve basis one (1) free tree. Supplies are limited. Tree types to be given away include: Live Oak and Sweet Gum. This celebration is part of the City’s initiative to be recognized as a Tree City USA from the National Arbor Day Foundation. Those interested in receiving a free tree are asked to bring proof of NSB residency. Support the Monarch Butterfly: Milkweed seed packets will also be distributed as part of the City’s Monarch City USA designation. Monarch butterfly populations are declining because the milkweed plants they need to survive are disappearing all across the U.S. Milkweed is the monarch butterfly’s only source of substance. Help increase the monarch population by planting milkweed or butterfly attracting plants in your gardens.
